Paola Maria Ciarcià was born in Siracusa in 1967. In 1993 she graduated in Art (Bologna, Università Alma Mater Studiorum).
From 1995 to 2009 she updated by taking part in many residential workshops with CEMEA (Centres for Exercise active Pedagogy Methods) and CIGI (Italian Committee of Children Games). At the same time, she worked in schools and libraries by realising educational-artistic workshops, training school employees and planning educational projects for many different customers.
She co-founded the Educational Activity Association and in 2000 she co-founded Edizioni Artebambini with her associate Mauro Speraggi.
Paola Ciarcià plans and conducts training courses for teachers and educators, acknowledged by the Italian Ministry of Education, Universities and Research, as well as workshops for children in schools, libraries and other locations. She is a publisher, the RivistaDADA (European Art magazine) head editor and curator of the project “Kamishibai – Narrative Cases”.
In 2010 she published an important art catalogue for children, “Calder”, which was the official guide for children during the exhibition realised in Rome that year.
